Community Advisory Group

The Wheat Ridge Police Department Community Advisory Group provides community volunteers with an opportunity to engage in open dialogue with the police department and learn more about community policing. Meetings occur every two months on the third Wednesday. Qualifications to apply to become a member of this group are as follows: the ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively in the exchange of ideas and opinions with people of diverse perspectives and experience, a commitment to improving police services in Wheat Ridge, and to reside or work in Wheat Ridge. Applicants must agree to a background check and to an interview with the Chief of Police.

WRPD Cadets

The WRPD Cadet program consists of youth ages 14-20 years old who are interested in learning about Law Enforcement as a career. The Cadet program offers area teens the chance to get real-world police knowledge and leadership experience while providing service to the community.

Cadets participate in an academy designed to provide them with basic Law Enforcement Skills. The Cadets then assist the Wheat Ridge Police Department and the community as volunteers while earning ride-a-long hours with our patrol officers.
