Presiding Judge
The Honorable Christopher Randall is the Presiding Judge for the Wheat Ridge Municipal Court, a position he has held since January 2002. He also currently serves as Administrative Law Judge for the tollways in the metropolitan area and mountains. Randall’s past work includes private practice, work for two law firms, work in the United States District Court, District of Colorado and 12 years as a municipal judge in Aurora, Colorado.
During his time on the bench, Judge Randall has transformed the court into an active, full-service court; created and updated legal forms; improved and systematized payment methods, and improved staffing to provide better service to the community. Currently, Judge Randall is overseeing plans to renovate the court room and court clerk’s office; is focusing on improving compliance with sentencing conditions and is focusing on better serving at-risk populations.
Judge Randall earned a bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA; a master’s degree in education from The University of Denver; and his Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. He has served on the Board of Governors for the First Judicial District Bar Association and is a past president of the Colorado Municipal Judges Association.
Originally from Virginia, Judge Randall is married with three children, all of whom graduated from Green Mountain High School in Jefferson County. He enjoys playing baseball, exercise, and fly fishing. He is a Civil War history buff and once argued a murder case before the Supreme Court of Louisiana.
