Risk Management

Claims
Risk Management coordinates and administers various claims generated from city operations including:

  • Workers' compensation
  • Auto liability
  • General liability
  • Personal liability
  • Property liability

Risk Management also provides assistance with accident investigations, in-service safety training programs, administering safety programs and policies, and development and revision of safety programs as needed.

Responsibilities
Risk Management is also responsible for the following:

  • Coordinating citywide insurance coverage
  • Recommending and coordinating policy on risk management matters
  • Processing property and casualty claims
  • Managing risk exposures, loss prevention and risk control, and risk retention while protecting the financial assets of the city

Reporting an Incident

If you believe you have a claim against the City of Wheat Ridge Colorado Law requires written notice within one hundred eighty-two (182) days after the date the person discovers the injury or damage. Please use the City of Wheat Ridge Incident Report form to report any claims.
