4. The mission of the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) Committee is to:

   • Advise the City Council on policies and practices to make Wheat Ridge a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive community.
   • Advise the City Council on the implementation of the 2023 Race and Equity Task Force Recommendation Report.
   • Act as a liaison between the community and the City Council, to bring forward issues and solutions related to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the City of Wheat Ridge.
   • Organize events and activities that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
   • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion programs to the community.
   • Foster mutual respect and understanding of all persons.

Each application will be thoroughly reviewed by Wheat Ridge City Council or staff. Applications will be kept on file for one year for any future vacancies. Application deadlines may vary.

47. The IDEA Committee meets once a month for approximately one to two hours. Committee members may have agenda materials to review before the meeting. Additionally, the Committee has the responsibility of organizing events and activities that promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in the community. As a result, committee members are expected to be able to contribute an average of four hours a month toward the committee’s work. On average, how many hours a month can you contribute toward the IDEA Committee’s work?*
