2. Ordinance Details
   Ordinance No. 1710

   Under the new regulations, Tobacco Retailers are required to obtain a Tobacco Retailer License. The fee schedule is $300 for new licenses, and then $250 for annual renewals. Beginning July 1, 2021, new licenses will be good through December 31, 2022. Renewals or new licenses approved after December 31, 2022 will continue on a one year cycle (January 1 - December 31). This license is in addition to a City of Wheat Ridge Business License ($20 Fee) and State of Colorado Tobacco Retail License (check Department of Revenue webpage for details).
4. License Fee Payment
   All Tobacco Retail License fee payments can be made by check when mailed, and by check, cash or credit when completed in person at City Hall. Checks should be made out to: City of Wheat Ridge Tax Division, PO Box: 7500 W. 29th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033
6. Term of License
   Tobacco Retailers must be in full compliance by July 1, 2021. Any business that submits the license application form by July 1, 2021 will be considered compliant. The first year’s Tobacco Retail License will expire on December 31, 2022, and renewals are due by January 1, 2023. Each subsequent renewal will last 12 months and expire on December 31 of that year.

44. Verification of Tobacco Retailer Requirements*

    I am aware that the following list includes most but not all requirements for Tobacco Retailers. I understand that a full list of requirements can be found in Sections 11-233 through 11-239 of the Municipal Code. (Please check all boxes.)

    1. Signage regarding the minimum legal sales age of 21 must be posted in accordance with Section 11-233(f) (page 5 of the ordinance).
    2. Additional signage, such as a current City-issued Tobacco Retail License Certificate, must be prominently displayed on the premises.
    3. No person who is younger than eighteen (18) shall sell, stock, retrieve or other otherwise handle Tobacco Products.
    4. Self-Service displays are prohibited (except for Retail Tobacco Specialty Businesses)
    5. All Tobacco Product Retailing must take place at a fixed location. Mobile vending, to include the delivery of Tobacco Products, is prohibited.
    6. Except for Tobacco Retailers that apply for a license by July 1, 2021, Tobacco Product Retailing is prohibited 1000 feet from schools and youth-oriented facilities.

    I declare under penalty of perjury in the second degree that this application and all attachments are true, correct, and complete to the best of my knowledge and belief. I also acknowledge that it is my responsibility and the responsibility of my agents and employees to comply with the provisions of the Wheat Ridge Municipal Code and all Rules and Regulations which govern my Tobacco Retailers License. I further acknowledge that it is my responsibility to provide the City with amendments to this application in the event that any information provided herein changes after the date of application.
