Wheat Ridge Police Department Records Team
The Record's window hours are currently Monday-Thursday 8am - 5pm, Friday 8am - 12pm.

The Police Records phone line is currently operating during the same hours as the window. This year we have added several easy-to-use online options for reporting and making requests. See the links below for these services, or email the Records team at PoliceRecords@ci.wheatridge.co.us.
Appointments are required for court ordered prints, interstate compacts and walk-through bonds. Bonding is only done on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Contact Records at the email above or 303-235-2921 to set up appointments for bonds, or 303-235-2942 for court ordered print or interstate compact appointments.
Online Reporting Available Now!
Reports of stolen vehicles, burglaries, robberies and most persons crimes cannot be reported online. Additionally, we cannot take reports with a known suspect or that occurred outside the City of Wheat Ridge. Call the non-emergency number at 303-980-7300 to speak to an officer. Identity theft may be reported online, but please follow instructions here before submitting the report. Additional forms are required and must be completed and attached to the online report.
Report certain crimes to the Wheat Ridge Police Department online. Click the button below to see what types of crimes can be reported through the online system and to begin a report. Have information about a suspect? Call the non-emergency number at 303-980-7300. In the case of an emergency, call 911.
Requests for Police Reports are prepared by WRPD Records Team members. Police reports may be requested via Request-A-Report, email, mail or in-person. Some reports and/or information contained in police reports may only be released under specific conditions as stated in Colorado statutes.

Online Request-A-Report:
- The Wheat Ridge Police Records Team is excited to announce the launch of Request-A-Report! This online report request tool provides safe, timely and easy access to request accident or incident reports, body work camera footage, photos and more. Click HERE to submit a request to the Records Team, and once processed, a secure link will be sent to the email address provided, allowing an immediate download of the media requested. Anyone requesting a police or accident report is required to complete a Records Access Request form or agree to the terms online. Colorado State Statute, C.R.S. 24-72-305.5 requires anyone requesting a report must sign an acknowledgement that the requested information in the report will not be used for the direct solicitation of business for pecuniary gain. If this statement is not signed, the statute requires that the request for the record be denied.

For requests made by mail, print the Records Access Request form and complete the requested information.

Requests for Motor Vehicle Accident Reports:
Most accident reports are available online through one of our vendor websites: CrashDocs or BuyCrash. These websites do not have access to any other type of police report. There is a fee charged by the website vendor for obtaining these reports. If you cannot access the accident report you are looking for online, please call the Wheat Ridge Police Department Records Team at (303) 235-2921 for assistance.
What you will need:
- Last name of one of the drivers listed in the report
- The date of the accident
- The report number
Be sure to put in the full report number (Example: WR21001234)

Records Check for backgrounds, criminal history, or arrests, in the State of Colorado
Please contact the Colorado Bureau of Investigation through one of the below listed options. A request through Wheat Ridge Police Records will only give arrests made in the City of Wheat Ridge. We cannot release backgrounds or criminal histories.
Internet Search:
Visit www.cbirecordscheck.com. Search for arrests ONLY in Colorado, based on full name and date of birth. Arrests not supported by fingerprints will not be included in this database. Additionally, warrant information, sealed records and juvenile records are not available to the public. This Internet search is not as complete and detailed as the Name Searches option listed below. A MasterCard or VISA is required to conduct a background search on this secured site.
In-Person Name Searches:
The search is conducted of CBI files using full name and date of birth and is more complete than the Internet Search (see above). This searches only records of arrest in Colorado for which fingerprints have been sent to the CBI. You must go to Colorado Bureau of Investigations, 690 Kipling St., Suite 3000 to make this request in person.

Wheat Ridge Police Records Team
Wheat Ridge Police Records Team is the central repository of our criminal justice records and incident reports.
The WRPD Records Team
- Maintains the security, credibility and accountability of all police case reports;
- Provides police records to citizens, insurance companies, and other government agencies in accordance with all applicable federal and state laws;
- Enters statistical crime information through Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for the National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS) as mandated;
- Releases copies of the Wheat Ridge Sex Offender Registration list to citizens of Wheat Ridge and neighboring communities;
- Archives police records in accordance with all applicable state statues in regard to the retention, destruction, and preservation of public records;
- Forwards case and accident reports to Wheat Ridge Municipal Court and Jefferson County District Court for prosecution; and,
- Bonds prisoners in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies during the normal business hours.
