Boards & Commissions
Apply to serve on a board or commission! Board and commission volunteers work on important projects and have a voice in city decisions. All interested residents are encouraged to apply online at any time and applications will be kept on file for one year. View our full list of boards and commissions.
Committees
The IDEA Committee:
The IDEA Committee is the city's new inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility focused advisory committee. Individuals who are passionate about fostering a more inclusive and equitable community and are committed to driving positive change are encouraged to apply. The IDEA Committee will include 10 members of the public as well as a city council liaison. Four of the 10 members will represent each council district, while the remaining six members will be at-large. To apply, please fill out the online application.
Community Partners Grant Program Committee:
The Community Partners Grant Program Committee has eight members appointed by council to represent each district. The purpose of the committee is to review grant requests from community organizations and present recommendations to city council on the funding amounts that each organization should receive. Members typically meet for four consecutive weeks in April/May and then present their recommendations to council in July. To apply, please fill out the online application.
Sustainable Wheat Ridge Committee:
Sustainable Wheat Ridge is a volunteer-led committee guiding the city in efforts to improve community conditions in six areas of environmental sustainability – green building and energy efficiency; renewable energy; solid waste and recycling; transportation; water; and communications and engagement.
Participate Online
Wheat Ridge Speaks is an online platform where you can provide public comment in advance of city council and planning commission meetings. Agendas are posted prior to meetings.
