You must submit a written demand and pay $25.00 to the Wheat Ridge Municipal Court within twenty (20) days of your plea of not guilty. The $25.00 deposit can be waived by a showing of indigency. Not all charges are entitled to a trial by jury. The Judge will inform you at the time of your arraignment which charges are jury trial eligible.

All prospective jurors are checked in and screened through security. Once the case is ready, all jurors are brought into the courtroom. For a six (6) person jury, twelve (12) jurors are randomly chosen to be questioned through a process called voir dire.

Court representatives are available at (303) 235-2835 to answer questions. You will need to call that number to acknowledge that you received your summons. You may also discuss any issues you may have with serving on the date of the trial. Jury service is usually one day in length. There are directions on your summons.

Discovery requests are addressed to the Assistant City Attorney. There is a $15 fee for discovery for general cases and a $7.00 fee for traffic cases.
