Spreading mental health awareness and providing resources for the community is an important initiative at the City of Wheat Ridge. The city is investing $400,000 of its American Rescue Plan dollars into Jefferson Center for Mental Health over four years.

“The partnership with Jefferson Center is a way for the city to support the mental, emotional, and overall well-being of our citizens. Together we will offer information, tools, and resources to help our community thrive,” said City Manager Patrick Goff.

The investment helps support a community engagement manager at Jefferson Center, professional development courses, Jefferson Center’s overall mission, and presentations specifically designed for the Wheat Ridge community.

“Through this partnership, the City of Wheat Ridge is making the mental wellness of its residents a priority. We are grateful for this opportunity, and proud to bring important information, resources and tools to support the wellbeing of our shared community,” said Jefferson Center Public Information Officer Stephanie Schiemann.

The presentations are free to the public and lunch is provided. Advanced registration is required. Presentations will be offered at the Wheat Ridge Recreation Center located at 4005 Kipling St. from 12-1 p.m.
