Community Development

Responsibilities

Community Development is responsible for:

  • Leading the programs and activities of the following divisions:
  • Developing and administering city and department policies
  • Preparing and administering the annual department budget
  • Directing the preparation of special plans or studies
  • Overseeing the work of consultants
  • Providing staff support to City Council and Boards and Commissions
  • Develop communications and marketing materials that communicate the work of the department to the Community
  • Empowering division managers to successfully manage the priority services of their division
  • Representing the city in public outreach event opportunities and at regional forums
  • Collaborating and coordinating with other departments, outside service providers, adjacent municipalities and regional and state agencies
